If you have a smaller kitchen, it can be hard to find space to store all of your dishes, gadgets, and other kitchenware, which can make your space feel cluttered and disorganized as a result.
The good news is, even if you’re working with a small space, there are ways to increase your storage capacity; you just need to get creative.
A recent article from realtor.com outlined creative storage solutions for small kitchens, including:
- DIY wall shelving. If there’s not enough storage in your kitchen, one potential solution is to make your own storage. Open shelving allows you to create storage in otherwise underutilized spaces — like the wall above the sink — and, depending on how you stage them, can also add visual interest.
- Add a corner cabinet. Another way to add additional storage without compromising too much kitchen real estate is by adding a corner cabinet. Corner cabinets make great use of often-wasted corner spaces, and can create additional storage opportunities for everything from spices to coffee to pots and pans.
- Add hooks under cabinets. If you don’t have a ton of cabinet storage, use your cabinets to store larger items, like plates and bowls, and then install hooks underneath each cabinet for coffee mugs and cups.
